

He retired with a disability from General Shale after 32 years of service.
Mr. Penley was of the Baptist faith.
He was born on January 3, 1953 in Greene County.
Survivors who cherish his memory include three sons: Paul Lance Penley and Christopher Wayne Penley of Greene County and Sean Taylor Penley of Kingsport; six grandchildren: Amanda Paula, Morgan Alexis, Nicholas Logan Alexander, Bridget Victoria, Julia, and Danielle; three great grandchildren: Braxton Penley, Liam Franklin, and Baylor Humphrey; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Beatrice Penley (Charlie) and Bonnie Margaret Guy (Bobby) of the Pine Grove Community in Greene County, Lucille Penley Bowser (Rickie) of Jonesborough; brother and sister-in-law: Clint Penley (Martha) of Jonesborough; three wives: Betty, Amy, and Karen; uncle: Archie Bowser (Mattie); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Taylor Cleve Penley; mother, Ruth Virginia Penley; daughter: Jessica Miranda Penley; three brothers: James Willie Penley, John Carson Penley, and Dorsey Ray Penley, all of Greene County; and grandparents: James William and Melvina Morelock Penley and David Monroe and Mary Cornea (Gregg) Bowser.
The family will receive friends from 4pm-8pm Wednesday and 11am-1pm Thursday at Pine Grove Church.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at the church with Rev. Bob Simpson and Rev. Rex Miller officiating.
Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
