
He worked at Greeneville Light and Power for 20 years and was the County Judge in Greene County for 8 years from 1974-1982. He served as county commissioner and Judge Pro Tem for 10 years from 1984-1994. He continued to serve as a county commissioner until 2013. He was also a lifelong farmer.
Mr. King was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include six nieces and nephews and six brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Lonita Gulley King; parents: Bruce and Ollie King; a sister: Anna Mae Crum; and five brothers: W. E., Warren, Bruce Jr., Carter, and Lavern King.
The family will receive friends from 5pm-8pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Buchanan and Rev. Dolphus Cutshaw officiating.
Interment will be at 10 am Friday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:30 am Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
