

She was a member of Love’s Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and a farmer.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother – always putting her family above herself. She was a decades long member of Love’s Memorial Church. One of her final wishes was to attend services again, so the congregation of Love’s Memorial is honoring her by having her funeral as the service on Sunday.
Mrs. Carter was known for her wonderful cooking, sweet disposition and her devotion to her Savior and her family. She read her Bible daily and despite years of failing health she never complained but expressed loving concern for others. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Rex P. Carter; her daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa Wilkerson, Gail and Tim Bowers, Janet and Danny Ricker; her grandchildren: Clay and Tiffany Wilkerson, Brooke and Jimmy Ramsey, Tyler Ricker and Brandon Bowers; two special great-grandchildren Emma Ramsey and Carter Wilkerson; her loyal companion – her dog Kate; her brother, Norman Smith; her best friend and sister-in- law Margaret Smith; her brother and sister-in-law Carroll and Carlene Smith; niece, Diane Hawk; a very special niece and nephew Paula Beverly and Chris Smith; several nieces and nephews who loved their “Aunt Tickie” very much; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Idell and Willy Burnette, Shirley and Lloyd Golden, Patsy and Buddy Hawk, Ellen Carter, Ken and Rita Carter, and Alfred Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Mary Sue (Rader) Smith; her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Crawford and Edna Solomon Carter; a son-in-law, Sammy Wilkerson; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Barbara Carter, Tom Carter, John and Naomi Carter, Bill Carter and Lillian Carter, Jack Carter, George and Shirley Ann Carter, Wayne Carter, Mary and Homer Seay, and Irene and William Rupert.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12pm – 2pm and 3pm – 5pm at Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Sunday at Love’s Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Clay Wilkerson, Rev. Dan Palmer, and Rev. Sam Smith officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the funeral service.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Beverly, Jordy Clark, Jimmy Ramsey, Chris Smith, Matthew Smith, and David Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Ken Carter, members of Love’s Memorial Church, and Rocky Ottinger.
