

Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker and the widow of Clarence Carpenter, her husband of 40 years who died April 25, 1998.
She was a member of Brown Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Lorrie Carpenter of Mohawk; a daughter and son-in-law: Mary Ann and Joe Brown of Mosheim; her grandchildren and their spouses: Colt Carpenter, Dillon Carpenter, T.E. Myers, Jon Luke Myers, Heather and Chris Moore, and Matt and Tara Brown, all of Greene County; her great-grandchildren: Hudson Moore, Abi Kate Moore, and Maddux Brown; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Martha Gaby and Dorothy and Albert Walker, all of Greeneville; her sisters-in-law: Margaret Bolinger of Portland, Ore., Nina Bowers of Kingsport, Nita Dunbar of Chuckey, and Ida Ruth Bowers of Greeneville; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews, including Amelia Jansen and Jacob Jansen; and her special caregivers: Martha Hayes, Lisa Davidson, Susie Bateman, Martha Meyer, Danny Gatlin, Becky Oakes, Nina Anderson, Amy Foulks, Joyce McLemore, Linda Reaves, Phyllis Day, and Janet Varney.
She was a daughter of the late Dee and Lizzie Bowers and was preceded in death by six brothers: George Bowers, Walter Bowers, Paul Bowers, Luther Bowers, Ray Bowers, and Tom Bowers; and a sister: Mary Kate Bowers.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Richard Long will officiate.
Interment will follow in Bethesda Cemetery in Morristown.
Pallbearers will be Colt Carpenter, Dillon Carpenter, Jon Luke Myers, T.E. Myers, Chad Wampler, and Chris Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Hartsell, and the nurses and staffs of Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville and Caris Hospice.
