He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen Roberts; his four daughters: Vonda and husband Joe Shelton of Greeneville, Lydria Boyd of Georgia; Kimberly and husband Scott Corvin of Murfreesboro; and Billie Michelle and husband Gerardo Hernandez of Mohawk; sisters: Phyllis Fye and Margarett Roberts, both of Knoxville and Joy Knight of Morristown; brother-in-law: Freddie Hale of Long Creek; sisters-in-law: Ida Ruth Hinkle of Greeneville, Alice Hale of Newport, and Cindy Hale of Long Creek; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend: Gary Etherton of the Caney Branch Community.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William Ralph and Ivizzie “Sue” Roberts; brother: Phil Roberts; brothers-in-law: Lucky Fye, Leonard Knight, and Stevie Hale; and a sister-in-law: Gladys Potts.
There will be no visitation or formal services.
