

He was a carpenter and farmer.
Mr. Harrison attended Greystone Free Will Baptist Church as long as his health permitted.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Navy as a gunner on a ship during the Normandy Invasion. Mr. Harrison was a member of the VFW Post # 1990.
He was an avid sports fan and was a baseball pitcher. He loved hunting and fishing with his grandsons.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law with whom he made his home: Carolyn and Zahn McCaslin; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law: Zahnie and Carrie McCaslin, Daniel “Doodle” and Deidre McCaslin; great grandchildren whom he adored: Molly McCaslin, Shane Stills, Emily, Brayden and Kinley McCaslin; a great great grandson: Harper Stills; one brother: Joe Harrison; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Sue “Dude” and Bud Laws, Wanda and Reed Jennings; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bobby and Joyce Estepp, Agnes Harrison; and a special friend, co-worker and hunting buddy: Marion “Junior” Gray.
He was the son of the late Lamon and Ruth Blake Harrison and was preceded in death by his wife, Stella “Ted” Harrison; one brother, Leon Harrison; and three sisters, Jetta Ree Hopson, Denta Kimery and Wilma Harrison.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012, at Gethsemane United Methodist Church.
Pastor Roger Stocton and Rev. Jerry Hopson will officiate.
Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Zahnie, Doodle, and Brayden McCaslin, and Shane Stills; and his nephews, Sammy Whitson, Benny and Kevin Laws, Ricky and Robin Harrison, Jeff Jennings, and Darrell Hopson.
Honorary pallbearers will be his special friends, Roy Weems, Curtis Myers, Eddie Owens, Tony and Margaret Ann Reaves, Eddie and Sherry House, George and Judy Miller, Nancy and Arthur Darnell, Henry and Geraldine Metcalf, Edna Rambo, Judy Harrison, Wilda Bowers, Claude Hensley, Jewel Burgner and members of his Sunday School Class.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Charles Montgomery and staff, Dr. Steven Prince, Priscilla Lynch, Dr. Dharmen Patel and staff, Katie Gilbert, and the 4th floor nursing staff at Laughlin Memorial Hospital, and the staff of Caris Hospice.
