

He was a former volunteer at Laughlin Memorial Hospital, an associate of Reality Program in Greene County, and was involved in nursing home ministry.
Mr. Stanton attended Union Temple Free Will Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy with 20 years of service. He was also a member of the VFW Post #1990 and Disabled American Veterans Greene County Chapter #42.
He is survived by three nieces: Patricia Hipps and husband Jerry, Pam Shelton and husband Carman, and Paula Stanton, all of Chuckey; great niece: Tawnya Grizzle and husband Chris; great nephew: Chris Hipps of Chuckey; three great-great nieces: Mackinzee, Jessica, and Brittany Grizzle; sister-in-law: Sadie Stanton of Chuckey; and special friends: Charlotte and Danny Shelton, Oscar and Pam McAmis, James and Donna Melton, and a host of other friends.
He was the son of the late Hubert and Koeppke Chandley Stanton and was preceded in death by a brother: Arville "Buck" Stanton.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday preceding the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Osca McAmis will officiate.
Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy Military Honors Team will conduct a military graveside service. It is requested that family and friends meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Wendesday to go in procession to the committal service.
His pallbearers will be family and friends.
