He was an employee of Straub Industries.

He is survived by his wife: Joni Cox; one daughter: Tara (Jonathan) Rohrer; and Trey (Leslie) and Briarman Whitfield and Gareth Rowlands; a mother: Patsy Cox; two brothers: Jamey (Paula) Cox and John (Natalie) Cox; one sister: Michelle (Shane) Bales; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father: Richard Cox, Sr; grandparents: Fred and Sue Cox; Willie and Lillie Thornburg.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the service to follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Clay Wilkerson will officiate. Interment will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Mosheim following the service.

Pallbearers will be: Jonathan Rohrer, John Cox, Jamey Cox, Shane Bales, Gareth Rowlands, Ben Woolsey, Tracy Gregg, and Billy Fisher.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Steven Burns, Roy Johnson, and Dale Kyker.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Greeneville Greene County Humane Society.

Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
