Ricky Ray Longworth, age 71, of Johnson City, TN, passed away September 26, 2026, at Lakebridge, Johnson City. He was a retired foreman in the automotive industry. He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Rick was proud of his daughters and grandchildren. He was also proud of his military service in the Army's 101st Airborne division. He also served in the National Guard. He was a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Rick enjoyed making people laugh as he had a wild sense of humor. He couldn't help but to crack a funny joke whenever the mood struck him (which was all the time). One of his greatest passions was music, he could often be found listening to something.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Longworth; a daughter, Kelley Longworth; a daughter, Victoria Miller; grandchildren, Asa Miller and Elizabeth Miller all of Johnson City; daughter, Sarah Crumley and her husband, Matt; granddaughter, Ezrie Crumley; grandsons, Silas Crumley and Elijah Crumley all of Knoxville; brothers: Leroy Longworth of Minnesota, John Longworth and his wife, Dotsie, of Indiana, Mike and his wife, Debbie, of North Carolina and Larry Longworth of Indiana; sisters, Pam Mosser and her husband, Terry, and Lora Byrum and her husband Jim, all of Indiana; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Longworth and a brother, Victor Longworth.
The family will receive friends 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will be conducted at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Father Dustin Collins will officiate.
The Greene County Honor Guard will conduct the military graveside service.
