Robert James Sheldon

He was of the Episcopalian faith.

After 6 years in the Navy, he served in law enforcement 27 years including 10 years as a deputy U.S. Marshall.

He was Vice Commander of AMVETS, a member of the Lion’s Club, and he worked with the Boy’s Club and Youth baseball teams.

He graduated from the FBI Training Academy with honors.

He was a devoted and beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years: Virginia Sheldon; three sons and daughter-in-law: Christopher and Rochelle Sheldon, Patrick Sheldon, and Scott Sheldon; step daughter: Vicki Culbertson; eight grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law: Barry and Kathy Sheldon; sisters and brother-in-law: Peggy and Jim Theodrakus and Suzanne Sheldon; step sisters: Martha Dicks and Mary and Jim Heisner; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Bernard and Charlotte “Betty” Sheldon; his birth father, Robert “Ralph” Hiscutt; and his son-in-law: Tyre Culbertson.

The family will receive friends from 12pm-2pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jim DuMond officiating.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Willie Greene, Dale Brown, Don Bull, Anthony Hance, Tyler Sheldon, and Austin Sheldon.
