

He was retired, having been self-employed.
Mr. Johnson attended Philadelphia Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife: Louise Proffitt of Greeneville; step-son and spouse: Larry and Scarlett Church of Greeneville; step-grandson: John Church and fiancé Theresa Hensley of Greeneville; two step-granddaughters: Crystal Havey and husband, Jeff, Mary Ann Smitt and husband, David; brothers-in-law: Gene Church and Ed Church of Greeneville; two daughters: Linda Deal and Melissa Church of Greeneville; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Eva Johnson and Cynthia and Charles Norton of Chuckey; brother: Marcus Lynn Johnson of Greeneville; sister-in-law: Edna Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was the son of the late Mark P. and Fannie Mae Corby Johnson and was preceded in death by his first wife: Wilma Chandler Johnson; sister: Phyllis Ann Johnson; and two brothers: Charles Johnson and Clyde Johnson.
The family will receive friends 1-3 and 5-7pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be conducted at 7pm Saturday, November 23, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lowell Bowen officiating.
Interment will be at 1pm Sunday at Philadelphia Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1pm Sunday for the committal service.
Pallbearers will be Allen Lane, Matthew Lane, Billy Lane, Kenneth Lane, Richard Norton, and Mark Johnson.
