

Rosalie “Rosie” Frances Myers, passed away on October 26, 2025, at Durham-Hensley Health and Rehab at the age of 92, with family by her side. Born in Dana, Indiana on St. Patrick’s Day, 1933, she was the second child of five to Blanche and Samuel Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Don Myers Sr. She was also preceded in death by her four siblings: Clara Mae Warren, Sam Jackson, Andy Jackson, and Norma Rigsby. Also preceding her were brother-in-law Everett Warren, her sister-in-law Marty Jackson, her niece Phylis Sowers, and Grandson-in-law Austin Volk. She was preceded in death by their special nephew Clifford Warren and their special niece, Nancy Mock.
Survivors include her brother-in-law, Bob Rigsby and her sister-in-law, Grace Jackson, both of Clinton, Indiana. A daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Scott Sorrels of Alpharetta, GA, a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Susie Myers of Greeneville, TN., four Grandchildren, Lauren Volk-Denton (Charles) of Cumming, GA, Katie Sorrels of Atlanta, GA, Mike Myers (Kelly) of Danville, KY, and Bradley Myers of Cleveland, TN., four Great Grandchildren, Grayson Volk, Evan Myers, Melissa Myers and Avalyn Denton. Nieces and Nephews Bob Rigsby (Kari), Allyson Chittenden (Jon), Leslie Link (Art), Patty Eaton (Sharm), Doug Culp (Mary Anne), Beverly Thomas (Neal), and Nancy Rennick. She dearly loved her great nieces and nephews and made sure their favorite treats were available during family gatherings.
Rosie and Don built a life in the Indianapolis area where they raised their two children. She worked as an office manager for two private insurance companies before retiring with her husband. After Don Sr.’s passing in 2007, she moved to Greeneville, TN in 2011 at the age of 78 to be near her son and daughter-in-law’s family.
Rosie joined Notre Dame Catholic Church in 2013 where she quickly became active in the Council of Catholic Women as well as the St. Catherine’s and St. Martha’s Guilds. She volunteered with the Notre Dame activity team for The Life Care Center of Greeneville. She always worked in the Notre Dame kitchen for events, fundraisers, and mercy meals. She was an avid water aerobics participant at the Greeneville YMCA pool and loved to be on Cherokee Lake with her grandchildren. Rosie loved her flowerbeds and vegetable gardens and shared the bounty with neighbors, family, and friends. While she could, she loved to host family dinners at her home, ensuring that everyone’s favorite was on the table.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Brighter Days Home Care, especially Shannon Tino and Ellen Mallicoat. Also, our gratitude to the Gentiva Hospice Team, especially Jaime Greer, Kristine Miles, and Karla Manis. We are grateful for the team at Durham-Hensley Health and Rehab. You surrounded Rosie’s final days with love, dignity, and respect that we will always remember.
The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00am at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00am, officiated by Father Joseph Kuzhupil.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Notre Dame Catholic Church Building Fund.
