She was disabled.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She fought a 15 month battle with lung cancer. She fought a hard fight. She will be sadly missed and loved and never forgotten.
Survivors include her companion of 19 years: Jerry Dalton; four daughters and two sons-in-law: Carolyn and Roger Wilburn, Diane and Mike Reed, Jamie Sue Carter and Brenda Lee Crum Gosnell; eight grandchildren: James and LayShea Johnston, Wesley Dewit, Gretchen Ottinger, Cody Wilburn, Matthew Simerly, Taylor Foshie, Whitney and Nataniel Crum; two great grandchildren: Colby and Jimmy Johnston; three special nephews, whom she helped to raise and spouse: Anthony and Jessica Gregg, George Allen Gregg, and Craig Keith Gregg; special niece, whom she helped raise and spouse: Danielle and Billy Renner; six brothers and three sisters and spouses: Rankin and Barbara Gregg, John and Diane Gregg, George and Brenda Gregg, Mike Gregg, Dave Gregg, and Sam Gregg, Nancy and Ron Goodstein, Teresa and Billy Valentine, and Linda Gregg and Gil Hahn; mother-in-law: Maude Carter; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Charles and Virginia Carter, Richard and Tracy Carter, Lesley Carter, Lemuel Carter, Alma and Jimmy Carter, Linda and Don Choate, and Barbara Carter; special sister-in-law: Carolyn Gregg Babb; two special aunts: Mary Ann Gregg and Jessie Mae Fillers; and her special friends: Hal Sisk, Danny Waddell, Sue Wills, Frankie Crum, Geoffrey Dewit, and Rodney Wilburn.
She was the daughter of the late Francis and Tulin Holt Gregg and was preceded in death by her husband; James Lloyd Carter; two brothers: William (Bill) Gregg and Fred Allen Gregg; one sister: Betty Joyce Valentine; great granddaughter: Sheyenne LaShea Johnston; father-in-law: Robert (Bob) Carter; two brothers-in law: Bobby Carter and Billy Carter; and one sister-in-law: Martha Carter.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at Jackson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Tony Darnell and Rev. Roger Dalton will officiate.
Interment will follow in Jackson Chapel Cemetery.
Her pallbearers will be her nephews: Scott Gregg, Brandon Gregg, David Lee Gregg, John Lee Gregg, Dillion Hahn, Anthony Gregg, Sammy Valentine, Billy Valentine, Keith Gregg, George Allen Gregg, and Shawn Lee Gregg.
