He was a retired Civil Servant and a member of the Loyal Moose Lodge of Woodbridge, Virginia.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 60 years, Claudia Schlegel; his son and daughter-in-law, Stanley Lester Jr. and Sharon Schlegel; grandchild, Libby Schlegel; and two brothers and three sisters.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Gladys Schlegel; three brothers; and one sister.
The family will receive friends 1-3pm and 5-7pm Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
A memorial service will follow at 7pm in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Mike Richards.
He will be interred at Mt. Home National Cemetery at later date.
At his request, he will be cremated.
