Tommy C. Gregory passed away peacefully at his home on Friday June 9th, surrounded by his family. He was a graduate of Greeneville High School in the class of 1952. He and his wife, of 68 years, were high school sweethearts and held hands right up until the end. After she graduated, they were married, and he went off to the Navy. He earned an engineering degree and, after leaving the service, he went to work at Pet Dairy in Johnson City and then on to Salisbury, NC. He eventually moved to Fairfax, Virginia where he went on to a career in sales of equipment in the Dairy and Food Industry. He developed many lifelong friends from his days at the Dairies across Virginia, Maryland and Tennessee.
After he retired from sales, he and his wife returned to their hometown of Greeneville. At the age of 70, he decided he wanted to take the real estate exam and fill his time as a realtor, which he did for several years.
He loved watching sports, and he was his daughter’s softball coach and baseball coach for his son for many years. His passion for golf was seen throughout the many tournaments, trophies and awards he received over 50 years of play. You could usually see the “3 Amigos” (Tom, Larry Coughlin, and Tony LeMarca and Occasionally his daughter Kathy) on the golf course in various tournaments laughing their way through life.
