Vivian R. Broach Ramsey

She was a former employee of George C. Moore Co. and Phillips Consumer Electronics. She also did computer work for a local attorney and was a licensed beautician.

Mrs. Ramsey was born in Greeleyville, South Carolina and was raised in Charleston, South Carolina. She graduated from Greeleyville High School. After her marriage, she spent the rest of her life in Afton, Tennessee.

Her hobbies were quilting, crocheting, embroidery, and beading.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who spent a lot of her time taking care of sick family members over a number of years. She will be sadly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years: Jim R. Ramsey; one son: Jeffrey A. Ramsey and fiancé, Aundrea Kay Maggard and her sons, James Elliot and Joseph Evan Maggard; a daughter: Jennifer Ramsey Williams and fiancé, Bobby Holt and his sons, Sean and Bradley Holt; grandchildren: Taylor Williams of Afton, Laura Ramsey and Amanda Ramsey, both of Chuckey; sisters and brothers-in-law: Thelma DeAngelis and Ruthie and Nelson Mitchum, all of Bonneau, South Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law: Thomas and Sandra Broach, Robert H. Broach, Jr., and wife, Lynn, all of Graniteville, South Carolina; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jackie and Barbara Saulsbury of Afton, Paul and Margaret “Peggy” Harris of Chuckey, Rose Ramsey of Afton, Lynn Broach of Graniteville, South Carolina, and Juanita Ramsey of Chuckey; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends whom she loved; and her best friends whom she loved as sisters: Elaine Huff, Betty Huff, Stella Pollack, Beulah Seaton, Barbara Broyles, Norma Blake, Wilma Lee Graham and their families.

She was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Helen Broach and was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Queen Ramsey; cousin, Rose Anne Fillers; brother, Wyatt Joseph Broach, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Jerry DeAngelis and Cecil Ramsey; and a special nephew, Roy Paul Stanton.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Alfred Cutshall will officiate.

Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Graceland Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Ramsey, Bobby Holt, Jackie Saulsbury, James Huff, Bill Huff, Johnny Huff, and Wyatt J. “Bud” Broach, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Black, Paul Harris, Keith Sampson, Dr. Brad Strange, Dr. Stephen Flohr, 4th floor staff of Laughlin Memorial Hospital, and the ICU staff at Johnson City Medical Center.
