She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, David Cox.
Other survivors include her two children: Anthony Stephon Cox and Kenny Shawn Cox; grandchildren: Brandy Willis, Holly Cox, and Caden Cox; sibling: Lois Ward-Tarlton; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Howard and Libby Ward; and her siblings: Grady Ward, Jack Ward, Jean Ward-Tarlton, and Arnold Ward.
As a child, she was very timid. However, once becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses as a young adult, she became passionate about sharing her knowledge of the Bible with others. She also enjoyed entertaining others by telling the unique stories from her childhood at Paint Creek.
While she had many different jobs throughout her life, her favorite was working for the US Forest Service. She loved working to clean the Earth which went hand in hand with telling others about a time when the Earth will be restored to a paradise as she learned in her Bible education. She loved growing flowers as well.
There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am at Haire Cemetery on Lower Paint Creek Road on Saturday, August 29th with Richard Robinson officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home at 10:15 am Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at a later date.
Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
