Wanda "Mama Jo" Owen

She was retired from Greene Valley Developmental Center.

She was a woman of Christian faith and was formerly an active member of First Baptist Church.

“Mama Jo” was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying UT men’s and women’s basketball. She was happy

to know that UT men were #1 in the country and UCONN lost by nine points.

Additional survivors include two grandsons: David Andrew and Matthew Alexander Summers; a

granddaughter: Lucy Goosey Davenport; a brother: Hugh Thacker; and two sisters: Laquita Forbes and

Sheila Best.

She was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Ruby Thacker and was preceded in death by her first husband, David Ray Neil.

A Gathering of Friends will be held 5-7 pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
