

Bill was of the Methodist Faith.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and he was in the Grocery Industry for over 50 years with the Old Super Dollar on Depot St, Bill’s IGA, and Food City. He was known to everyone that knew him as “Pa”.
Bill loved his family, sports, fox hunting, fishing, sitting on the porch, and Donald Trump.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Vanessa Dearstone of the South Central Community; Priscilla Freeman, whom he loved as a daughter; grandchildren, Angie and Stephen Turbyfield, Holly Ricker, Ashley and Timmy Thompson, Thomas Dearstone and fiancé Shasta Hiser, and Carrie and Daniel Lloyd; great-grandchildren, Drew, Mason, and Elynn Turbyfield, Megan and Hunter Shelton, Brantlee Holt and Knox Tweed, Harley Thompson, Jade Foreman, Sophie Dearstone, Conner Stout, Emrik Dearstone, and Taylor Lloyd; great-great-grandchildren, Ellie and Benton Shelton and Brylee Turbyfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by special friends, Eva and Alan Christian, Dale Massey, Trevor Darnell, Andrew, Casey, and Josey Holt, Garland Reaves, and Cathy Nelson, along with a host of friends too numerous to mention.
He was the son of the late Tom and Sallie Mae Mysinger Dearstone and was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Hilda B. Dearstone; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Ralph Dunn; a brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Mary Ann Dearstone; and several other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends 1-3pm and 4-7pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Vanessa Dearstone, 112 Liberty Hill Road, Chuckey.
The funeral service will follow at 7pm in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel, officiated by Rev. Stephen Saults and Rev. Michael Young.
Interment will be at 2pm Friday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1pm to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers are Bill’s grandsons and great-grandsons, Andrew Holt, Trevor Darnell, and Mitchell Wilhoit.
Honorary Pallbearers are his friends from the Fox Lot, Dr. Michael Hartsell and the Staff at Summit Family Medicine, and the Doctors and Staff at the V.A. Medical Center.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at Greeneville Community Hospital.
