

His family states, “Craig was an avid football fan, racing fan, and loved the outdoors. He was awarded many trophies, both locally and from the Watauga Conference, during his four years at South Greene High School.
Craig has been a quadriplegic since September, 2000, as a result of a fall from a treestand while deer hunting. He is now following his “Coach”, Larry Ricker and his father, Johnny Johnson, Sr. to a place that there is no pain or suffering.
He has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church since early childhood. One of his great mentors in life was Rev. Wayland Fillers, who was his friend since birth.”
Craig is survived by two daughters: Kristen and Maggie Johnson; a stepdaughter: Samantha Johnson; his mother: Pat Johnson; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Lynn Johnson and Nicole Jones, who were his caregivers, and Tim and Deena Johnson; a special niece: Blane Johnson; one nephew: Tyler Cannon; grandfather: J. T. Brown; a special great aunt: Kate Brown; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a special friend: Lucas Lamons.
He was the son of the late Johnny Johnson, Sr. and was preceded in death by grandparents: Doug Johnson, Francis Brown, Bonnie and Robert Rednour.
The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Rocky Johnson and Rev. Keith Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
His pallbearers are Brent Gray, Cameron Shelton, Tyler Cannon, Byran Johnson, Douglas Johnson, and Michael Melton.
