Agnes Antoinette Spira

With sadness Agnes passed away on Sunday , August 10, 2025 in her 98th year. Born in Kitchener she was the daughter of William Bisch and Matilda Winter. She was a descendant of one of the earliest settler families in Waterloo County that came from the Alsace region of France.

Agnes was predeceased by her husband of Robert (Bob) Leon Spira in 2021 after 71 years of marriage. She was predeceased by son Kevin in 1983. Agnes is survived by sons Allen (Elizabeth Vale), Brian (Barbara Furber), and daughter Donna (Peter Goemans). She is also survived by four grandchildren (David, Gregory, Jessica, Jennifer), three great-grandsons (Patrick, Christopher, Andrew), and 2 step great-granddaughters (Sharon, Stephanie).

A long-time resident of Guelph, Agnes and Bob resided at 4 Peter Avenue for 67 years. She was an avid member of the Guelph Curling Club. Agnes was a resident in the Elliot Community in Guelph from January 2019 then to Sunnyside Community in Kitchener from January 2025 until her passing.

No formal memorial service is planned. Interment at a future date will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Guelph to be with her husband Robert.
