Annunziata Furfaro

Passed away January 2, 2026, in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of Jim for 48 years. Loving sister of Carmelina Iorio and her husband Jim of Rochester, NY. Predeceased by her parents Domenico and Josephine Silivestro.

Nancy was the loving sister-in-law of the late Domenic and the late Carmela Furfaro, the late Nancy and the late Vincenzo Raso, Stella and the late Rodolfo Beltrame, Angelo and Carmela Furfaro, Rocco and Brenda Furfaro, Tony and Betty Furfaro, Michael Furfaro and Michelle MacLean, Mary and John McGimsie, George and Laura Furfaro and the late Ned and Colleen Furfaro. Special sister-in-law to Denise Toulouse. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Annunziato and Vincenza Furfaro. Zia Nancy was the beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was born in Rochester, New York on March 4, 1954. She was the older sister of Carmelina and the daughter of hard-working Italian immigrants. After finishing high school, she worked at the Eastman Kodak company in data processing. She later met Jim at a wedding in August 1976, where she was the maid of honour and he was the best man. Nancy and Jim were married at Sacred Heart Church in Guelph on July 9, 1977.

Nancy and Jim enjoyed travelling together and loved to escape the cold winters with frequent trips to Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Curaçao, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.

Nancy was devout in her faith and her love for God. Her cheerful laugh, big smile and warm embrace were always a comfort to those around her. She always enjoyed a cup of coffee and a good conversation. Nancy was a dear and generous friend to many, both near and far. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Jim would like to sincerely thank the first responders who attended to Nancy at home, as well as the staff and doctors in the Emergency Department at Guelph General Hospital.

Visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m., and Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 9 – 10 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St., Guelph, at 11 a.m. Entombment at Marymount Cemetery.
