Born in Montreal, Quebec, on March 5, 1956, Cathy was the beloved daughter of Nina and Roman Stanzinger. She grew up in Montreal and attended Sacred Heart School, where her lifelong love of learning took root. She later earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University and became a Certified General Accountant.
In 1984, Cathy married Greg, the love of her life, and together they shared a devoted and happy marriage. In 1990, they settled in Ontario, where Cathy continued her career as an accountant, working primarily in the healthcare field. Quiet, thoughtful, and deeply dedicated, she was respected for both her professionalism and her integrity.
Outside of work, Cathy found joy in the simple pleasures of home. She was an avid quilter and knitter, creating beautiful handmade pieces with patience and care. She also loved to cook and took great pleasure in preparing meals for those she loved. Animals held a special place in her heart—there was rarely a time when Cathy didn’t have two or three dogs or cats nearby, each one cherished as part of the family.
Cathy lived a gentle, unassuming life, rich in love. She was a devoted wife to Greg and a loving sister-in-law to Gary, Glenda, and Gina. Though she never sought the spotlight, her kindness, warmth, and quiet presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
A private cremation has taken place. Arrangements were entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home – Hart Chapel (1099 Gordon St., Guelph). In keeping with Cathy’s wishes, there will be no public service. The family asks that Cathy be remembered in your thoughts.
She will always be loved and deeply missed.
