He was raised with his 4 siblings in Mille Roches, a town now flooded by the St. Lawrence, later Cornwall. Don was a heavy equipment operator for 50 years having worked nearby for J.C. Duff gravel.
All will remember him as a devoted husband and quiet family man who most liked to putter at home. Don loved antique cars, heavy equipment, saving mementos, his tool shed and wood stove, vegetable garden, reading, saving wildlife, and all babies. To his three children, he passed on a love of cheese curds, making things with his hands, and his deep seated connection to “home”.
Don is survived by his loving wife and friend of 59+ years, Anita, as well as his children Kelly (Jim), Julie (Michael), and Kevin (Michelle); grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. Stephen’s Anglican Cemetery (14946 Steeles Ave. Hornby). For more information please view dad’s Facebook page or please call 519-760-2404 for a recorded message.
