“Generosity of Spirit"
Emma Pauline (Lou) Bradley, daughter of George and Annie Josephine Leonard, was born in St George, NB, the second youngest in a family of eleven children. The family moved to Ontario in 1939.
Emma Lou became a teacher, a vocation she loved, and married John Bradley in 1948. They settled on John’s family farm in Hornby where they raised three daughters, Anne Bradley (John Holt) of Guelph, Cheryl Bradley (Lorne Fitch) of Lethbridge, AB, and Karen Bonham (Bob) of Guelph. Emma Lou was a loving grandmother to John Higginbottom (Karen) of Guelph, Linzy Bonham (Rodrigo Goller) of Guelph, and Phil Bonham (Andrea Duthie) of Squamish, BC, and oh so proud great-grandmother to Hannah, Emma, and Auggie.
Emma Lou’s life was devoted to family, community and church. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Hornby for over 70 years.
In 1984, John and Emma (Lou) retired from the farm and settled in Milton where they enjoyed many happy active years before John predeceased her on May 12, 2013.
Emma (Lou) moved to The Village of Riverside Glen in Guelph in 2017.
Her faith always sustained her. If desired, donations may be made to St Stephen’s Hornby Anglican Church. Donations to the church can be made through this website.https://niagaraanglican.ca/parish/st-stephens-hornby
