Devoted husband to Janet for 45 wonderful years, he was the proud father of David (Jennifer) and Breanne (Daryl), and an adoring papa to Annika, Selena, Levi, and Briar. He is survived by his sister Carole and predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Yvonne.
A true family man, Brian poured his heart into every role he held. He coached both of his children’s hockey and baseball teams, never missing a chance to encourage, challenge, and cheer them on. An avid athlete himself, he was a dedicated triathlete and lifelong baseball and hockey player.
In retirement, Brian embraced the joy of travel, with a memorable riverboat cruise standing out among his adventures. One of the defining moments of his later years was visiting his father’s grave in Holland - an experience that touched him profoundly.
Known for being persistent and discerning, Brian sometimes had a “short fuse,” but it was always outshone by his generous spirit and his big, unmistakable heart. He loved to entertain and was often the life of the party, filling every room with laughter and energy. Ever the romantic, he cherished Janet with a devotion that never wavered.
Brian leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and unforgettable moments - memories that his family and friends will carry with them always.
A drop in Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, December 14 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Hospice Wellington.
