Jack Henry Kudla

Jack will be missed by his parents Julianne and Paul, his brothers Martin and Patrick (Marisa), his grandparents Kay Wright and Vince Royea, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandparents William “Bill” and Rhona Kudla.

Julianne and Paul would like to thank the nurses and doctors on Floor 5 ICU unit at Guelph General Hospital for their care and compassion during his final days. We can’t express enough our gratitude to the many people who were part of his life; this includes the respite care he received at the Kids Country Club, Hopewell, and Darling Home for Kids. The many teachers, educational assistants, bus drivers and nurses who supported him during his school age days at Priory Park and Centennial C.V.I. The student volunteers who were peer coaches that allowed him to participate in the annual Special Olympics event. Jack was fortunate to have excellent doctors, therapists, technicians, dieticians and nurses at both McMaster Children’s Hospital and Hamilton General Hospital. The many PSWs that provided at home care who went above and beyond their job responsibilities and were a big support to our family. A big thank you to our friends at Hopewell who have cared for Jack since he moved there in 2021. As the saying goes….it takes a village. You are all amazing people, and we couldn’t have had our precious time with Jack without you.

Jack touched many lives in his 27 years with his infectious laugh and mischievous grin. He had a great sense of humour and had the ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him without saying a word. He loved being around his brothers and their friends and was always included and never left behind. He was an inspiration to those around him to be and do better.

Friends are welcome to a reception on Saturday, March 1 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph. In lieu of flowers, and as expressions of sympathy, donations to Hopewell Support Services would be appreciated by the family.
