Jenna entered this world on February 10, 2003, in Guelph, Ontario, and left us at the tender age of 22.
She was the light of our lives — a gentle, loving soul who gave her heart so freely, not only to her family and friends, but to anyone fortunate enough to meet her. To know her was to feel seen, cherished, and loved beyond measure. Everyone who crossed her path carried a piece of her light with them. Her kindness seemed effortless, and her presence was a pure gift.
She was about to enter her fourth year at Queen’s University, full of hopes, dreams, and excitement for the future. Jenna loved music and the way it could bring people together. She enjoyed being outside in nature, smelling flowers, holding shells, and just laying in the grass. In recent years, she discovered her love for travelling, embracing her wandering soul, and finding beauty everywhere she went. She found joy in exploring new cities, foreign countries, and falling in love with the simple treasures, like old book stores and local pubs – anywhere to share a story or a laugh with those around her. Her zest for life was contagious, and she inspired us all to slow down and appreciate the world around us: to be present.
Jenna was the precious daughter of Nancy Carr and Paul Brydges, and lovingly embraced by her stepmother, Lynne Brydges. She shared a special bond with her siblings — Kyle, Carli, and Sarah (Pat) — who adored her deeply. Jenna was a dear granddaughter to Ed and Arlene Brydges, and to the late Bob and Barbara (“Bamma”) Carr. She was loved by her many aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will carry her memory with them forever. She was the heart of our family, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A tree will be planted at Rockwood Conservation Area in Jenna’s memory.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home – Hart Chapel, in Guelph. A funeral service will then follow at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to join the family afterward for a celebration of Jenna’s life at the Italian Canadian Club, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
“There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go, no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone.
Ripple in still water.”
