Kenneth James Macksey

Peacefully surrounded by family and longtime friends Kenneth James Macksey, 78 years of age, passed away on Thursday, July 25th, 2024. Ken was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished brother and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

Beloved Husband to Catherine Macksey of 57 years, Loving Father to Joanne Macksey, Suzanne Voteary (predeceased), Jim Voteary, & Richard Macksey. Grandaddy to Owen, Arielle & Claudia. Dear Brother to Karen Ives (Bob predeceased), Jean Koski, Marilyn Simpson (predeceased) (Brian), Wayne Macksey (Karen). Godfather to Kimberly Black along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Agnes and Albert Macksey.

Ken spent 11 years in the Canadian Armed Forces – Navy Branch. His primary career was spent working for Xerox Canada and received many accolades over the years. He loved his country music and Johnny Cash was his favorite singer. He volunteered in many community organizations including Boy Scouts, Air Cadets and Habitat for Humanity. He participated in many activities where he excelled including Photography, Tennis, Table Tennis, Pickleball, Lawn Bowling and Badminton. He enjoyed mental strategic games of Chess, Backgammon and Darts.

Family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, Ontario N1G 4X9 (519-821-5077) on Tuesday, Aug 6, from 12-2 pm for Visitation, 2-3 pm for the Remembrance Service with a reception to follow in the funeral home's Fellowship Lounge. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park to follow at a later date.
