

Ladislau (Leslie Sr.) is survived by his beloved wife Mary, cherished son Leslie (Eva), and his two grandchildren Christina and Brendan. He will be forever remembered by many extended family and friends for his continuous smile and calm demeanor.
Leslie Sr was born on Sept 23, 1943, he was the youngest of 4 siblings, He married his wife Mary on Sept 11, 1965. Resulting in a lifelong marriage of 59 years.
With a love for craftsmanship, Ladislau (Leslie Sr) began his journey as a wood carving instructor in a woodworking Trade school in Arad Romania before immigrating to Canada in 1974. With his continued love for craftsmanship his dedication and hard work led him to a fulfilling career as a Custom Cabinet maker of 35 years at Barzotti Woodworking, where he applied his talents with skill and pride. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved going fishing.
His legacy of hard work, integrity, patience, and calm Christian demeanor will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A visitation for Ladislau will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Hart Chapel (1099 Gordon St., Guelph) with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel. The committal service will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park (762 Woolwich St, Guelph).
Donations may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Ladislau Mereg leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. May he rest in Peace (Nyugodjon Békében)
