

Beloved mother of Vivian Hall, Adam Hall, and Jennifer McNorton. Cherished Grandmother of Aidan Harris, Zoe Collett, Jude Harris, Thor Hall, Ronan Harris, Ella Ely, and Isaac Harris. Margaret will also be dearly missed by her brother Patrick Trainor, sister Emily Borsa and is predeceased by her brother Michael Trainor.
Margaret’s impact on the Guelph community was profound. As the owner of Harmony House Retirement Home and Childcare Centre, one of the first organizations to bring together end of life care and childcare, she created a model of compassion, dignity, and intergenerational connection. Her commitment to service extended far beyond her work. As a devoted member of the Rotary Club of Guelph, Margaret put her energy into countless initiatives, including Canada Day celebrations, Lobsterfest, Sparkles in the Park, Polio campaigns, and many other community events. Her generosity, leadership, and unwavering dedication to making Guelph a better place will be remembered with gratitude.
Margaret was also a cherished member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), where she shared her talents as a cook and teacher, and took great joy in attending and hosting medieval themed events.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Italian Canadian Club, 135 Ferguson St, Guelph, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 4–8 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
In honour of Margaret’s lifelong commitment to community service, donations to Purple for Polio and Wyndham House will be accepted at the Celebration of Life.
