Mary Anne Theresa McGill-Mitchell

Beloved wife of the late John (Jack) D. McGill (1984) married 22 years and Ron Mitchell (2015) married 25 years.

Daughter of the late Tony and Leona Zister. Mother of Jack (Nancy) of Puslinch, Joanne of Midland and Brenda (Ron) Doucette of Kilworthy. Grandma of Laura (Mark), John, Jason and Jessica (Aaron). Great grandma “GG” of Lucas and Jacob. Step mom to the late Steve Mitchell (2002) and Gail Lafrenere. Step grandma to Tammy and Randy (Sharon) Mitchell.

Dear sister of Jerry (Jan) Zister and Diane Hunt (late Ken). Sister in law to Bob (Gail) McGill, Jim MacLean, Bruce (Diana) Mitchell.

Predeceased by Anne “Bunny” Zister, June (Ed) Grabowski, Jim (Judy) McGill, Shirley (Mike) Naciuk. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mary Anne had a very special friend since grade one, Irene “Peg” Lawson. Mary Anne and Peg spent a lot of time together and made lots of good memories.

Mary Anne and Ron moved to Gravenhurst in 2005. Ron passed away in 2015. While in Gravenhurst, Mary Anne volunteered at Muskoka Shores Nursing Home, the Alzheimer's Group and enjoyed going to the Seniors Centre. Mary Anne moved back to Guelph in 2020.

For many years Mary Anne took great pride in making cakes for all occasions for family, friends and members of the community.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Hart Chapel (1099 Gordon St. Guelph) on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00 am. The committal service will follow at Marymount Cemetery (5400 Hwy 6, Ariss) and a reception will be held back at the funeral home following the committal.
