Myrna will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 52 years and best friend, Pat. She is predeceased by her parents Hilda and George Burns. She is survived by her sister Ann (Mike), her beloved daughter Heather (Dave), and her cherished grandchildren Caitlyn and Jack. Myrna will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Myrna was a gentle and kind-hearted woman whose warmth was felt most deeply through the quiet moments of life. She had a generous yet feisty spirit, a great sense of humour, and a thoughtful nature that touched everyone who knew her. One of the most meaningful ways she expressed that love was through baking her well-known chocolate chip cookies for her family. These cookies became a treasured tradition at gatherings and a lasting symbol of her love.
Myrna also had a deep appreciation for the Toronto Blue Jays and remained a loyal fan throughout the years. Watching their games brought her joy and became a meaningful part of her daily life. Her love for the Blue Jays, and excitement watching them in the World Series this year, will forever remain a fond memory for those who shared those moments with her.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Heather Reid Rafla and the caring staff at Chartwell Retirement Residence for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests all donations be made to a charity of their choice in Myrna’s memory.
