It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Remo Finoro at the age of 67, on March 11, surrounded by family at his home. Remo was brave, determined, stayed positive and kept his faith through his journey.
Remo was much loved and will be dearly missed by his wife Gloria, his mother Anna Finoro (Predeceased by his father Ricky Finoro, and his in-laws Velma and Howard Smith).
Survived by his brother Nick (Marisa), sister Martha (Rick Davies), sisters in law Donna and Gail Smith (Dominic Longo). Loving Uncle to Alex (Rachel), Ryan (Alana), Michael Finoro, Lauren (Matt Poland), Joshua Davies (Brooke), and Matt Smith (Jess). Loving Great Uncle to Nicholas, Luca, Sienna, James, Weston and Beckett. He was loved and will never be forgotten by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from here to Italy and Australia.
Remo was a vibrant, humorous, and unpredictable individual who was the spark in any situation. He absolutely loved making people laugh and had a gift for turning any moment into an opportunity. Life was his stage.
He was very proud of his Italian heritage always cheering on the Italians in every sporting event they participated in.
Remo was a man of precision who believed in giving his full effort-when he committed to something he was “all in.” He applied this precision to many aspects of his life, especially his game of golf.
He was a passionate golfer and was a proud member of Victoria Park East Golf Course for over 28 years. One of Remo’s happiest moments was getting back out on the golf course this summer to play 18 with his long-standing Monday golf buddies. Remo’s proudest achievement was shooting not only one hole in one but two! His first hole in one was at hole #11 and the 2nd one was at hole #4.
Another example of his many achievements was being awarded his Black Stripe Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Anupam Batra and Dr. Cary Shafir and Nurse Leslie from Bayshore HealthCare for their compassionate care, kindness and support.
