Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janice, daughter Stacey, sons in law John and Ross, grandchildren Tyler, Gage, Jillian and Natalie, brother Brian (Sharon). Predeceased by daughter Leslie and parents Bob and Marion.
Bob was born on March 19, 1944. He grew up in Napanee, Ontario and graduated from McGill University medical school in 1969. He and Jan were married in 1969 in Sackville, New Brunswick in the Mount Allison University chapel. After completing his surgery residency in London Ontario, they moved to Owen Sound, Ontario where Bob practiced as an orthopedic surgeon at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Center (now Brightshores Health System) from 1975 to 2012.
Bob always enjoyed skiing, sailing and travelling. He rediscovered his love of model railroads and built large train tables that he enjoyed with his grand children. Bob and Jan moved to the Village by the Arboretum retirement community in Guelph where he was able to pursue many hobbies with various clubs.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, March 22 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Village by the Arboretum Community Centre, 33 Village Green Drive, Guelph.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Wellington would be preferred.
Interment to follow at a later date in Napanee.
