Alfred Carter

June 27, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Halifax on June 24, 1930 he was

the son of the late Alfred Thomas and Mildred Irene (Gray) Carter. Predeceased by

brother Harry and sisters Mary, Violet and Betty Ann (in infancy); first wife, Vivian

Victoria (Brooks). Survived by loving wife of 29 years, Roberta Ann (Dorey), brother

Richard (Edie) daughter Shannon Lynn (Bob Finlay), grandchildren Andrew (Ashley),

Brett, Leah, Natasha, Mackenzie and great grandchildren Corbin, Zoee and Abby. Alf

had a wide range of occupations during his lifetime, but found his dream job at

Spring Garden Terrace where he was a doorman for over 20 years. In lieu of flowers,

donations may be made to the Cancer Society, VON, Canadian Red Cross or Northwood

Home Care. There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, July 3rd at 2 pm at Fort

Massey United Church, corner of Tobin and Queen Streets in Halifax. Reception to

follow.
