Allen was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Katherine Westhaver and his wife of 55 years, Theresa. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Randy), and sister Noreen (Ron), Catherine and Sharon (Richard).
Allen worked for 31 years at the Halifax Herald and enjoyed spending his leisure time at the cottage in Prospect Bay. In his younger days, he and Theresa loved to go dancing – at the Nurse’s Ball, the Policeman’s Ball, and he and Theresa were always out on the town dancing on New Year’s Eve with dear friends Dot and Earl. Allen was a kind and gentle man who loved bowling and earned lots of trophies. He also enjoyed playing games on his computer and searching “the google”. Allen and Theresa also loved travel – Hawaii, New York and many trips to Boston. In his later years, Allen and Theresa loved going to the Casino. He’ll be enjoying some rice pudding with his good friend Earl. May we all take comfort in knowing that he is happily once again in the arms of Theresa, the love of his life, who was waiting at heaven’s gate with open arms and they can dance together once again.
