CLEVELAND - HEBB, Amanda Lynn, – 48, passed away, comforted by her dedicated and loving husband Jamie by her side, on December 30, 2023. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland on October 15, 1975. She was the only child of Mark and Dianne Cleveland. She is survived by her husband Jamie Hebb and daughters Kylie Hebb and Ashley Hebb. She will be sorely missed by her in-laws Stephen and Marlene Hebb, her sister-in-law Amanda Carter and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous close friends.
She attended Gorsebrook Junior High School and Convent of the Sacred Heart in Halifax. After her schooling she worked at the TD Bank and then decided to start a family as a stay-at-home mother and raised two wonderful children.
After a short stay in Moncton, New Brunswick, her family spent 16 cherished years in Grimsby, Ontario, where they raised their girls and had many wonderful friends. Unfortunately, she suffered a life changing hemorrhagic stroke in 2018. Despite the on-going pain and challenging effects from her stroke, she spent her past 5 years giving everything she possibly could back to her family and created more wonderful memories than humanly possible.
Her family recently moved back home to Nova Scotia, to the family cottage in St. Margaret’s Bay, a place she loved so much. She was in the final stages of carefully selecting and building her dream home surrounded by trees which will forever serve as a reminder of her love for her family.
Amanda suffered a catastrophic brain hemorrhage early Wednesday morning December 27th and never regained consciousness. She is finally out of pain and at peace with herself. Our pain will be eased by all the memories she shared with us. Amanda’s family will never see pink lipstick, a passing butterfly, the time 11:11, or hear hundreds of songs she brought special meaning to, without thinking of her.
Amanda was in a class of her own. Her smile would light up a room, only to be rivalled by her quick wit and sarcasm. Despite the stresses and pain her health put her through, she was the first to say to her daughters, “take the pain off of your shoulders and put it on mine”, a true testament of her maternal love and dedication.
As she shared with family members over Christmas, “Sometimes you have to tread through the darkness to see the light”. Amanda is finally seeing the light and will make Heaven a better place. We miss you and love you until the day we meet again.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
