

She was born Marie Annette Pottier, to Philomon and Helene, nee Bourque, Pottier, in Yarmouth, NS and grew up in the family home in Belleville, NS.
She is survived by her children, Kevin (Judy), Simcoe, ON, Michele (Allan) Horsman, Denise Dempsey (Scott Martin), John Paul (Wanda), Rocky Mountain House, AB, Odette Barnhart and daughter-in-law Bernadette Dempsey. Also survived by extended family members Kelly Meade and Shannon Greek and their families.
She was a loving and proud grandmother of 13, Patrick (Danielle), Devin, Laurenn (Peter), Houston, TX, Selena (Matt), Janel (Jack), Justine (James), Alyson, Leslie, Ross (Michelle), Grace (Matthew), Henry, Paul (Taylor), Squamish, BC and Alysha (Paul), Calgary, AB. She was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren, Auggie and Sol, Molly, Harley and Willow, Shai and Wynn, Theo, Abby, Kenley, Eli, and Evee.
Annette is also survived by her sisters, Margaret d’Entremont, Tusket, NS, and Bernadette Webber, her brother, Paul (Michelyne) Pottier, Ottawa, ON, and sisters-in-law, Letha Pottier, Whitby, ON, Margaret Pottier, Oshawa, ON, Margaret Ann Elliott, Oakville, ON, and brother-in-law, Wallace Scallion.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Brendan, her son Brendan Joseph and beloved granddaughter Sarah Rohr, Red Deer, AB. Also predeceased by brothers and sister-in-law, Louis (Mae) Pottier, Raymond Pottier, Augustin Pottier, and brothers-in-law Hubert d’Entremont and Stirling Webber.
Our mother received her early education at Sacred Heart Convent, Meteghan, NS, before heading to Halifax, in her late teens, where she was employed by Maritime Tel and Tel Company. She joined other like-minded young women, sharing a home and making life-long bonds, in boarding houses in Halifax, NS, before she met and married her late husband, Brendan. She and Brendan enjoyed a long and happy marriage, raising six children of whom they were very proud.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church (of Stella Maris Parish), 6 St. Michael’s Ave., Halifax, at 10:30 am. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Snow’s Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, from 6 pm to 9 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
