Born in Quebec City, he was the son of the late Philip John and Marguerita (Mullen) Delaney. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Thompson), daughters Elaine (Tony) Minichiello, and their sons Delaney and Quincy of North Vancouver and Elizabeth (David) Simpson and their daughter Ashley, Stillwater Lake. Also surviving are his twin brother Edward (Joan), Burlington, Ontario and sister Eileen (Masse), Magog, Quebec, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Michael and Phillip and sisters Rita, Anna and Maureen.
Tony graduated from St FX ‘64 and lived in Montreal and Quebec City for 11 years before moving to Halifax. He was employed in Halifax with Human Resources Halifax (EI) for 25 years.
Tony was a mild mannered, gentle man. He loved animals especially dogs. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, walking, traveling and doing the Sudoku and Lexicon. Tony amazed family and friends with his great memory.
For 20 years he enjoyed his camp near Larry’s River. He lived in Timberlea for 30 years and then moved to Boutilier’s Point where he enjoyed life at the Bay.
Visitation will be at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive from 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, June 26th.
Funeral Mass will be Monday, June 27th at 11:00am at St Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 18 Scholars Rd, Upper Tantallon. Father Eric Smith presiding. Private burial to follow.
