Born in Vita, Manitoba, She was the Daughter of Pauline and John Jaman
Being Ukrainian, Barb grew up with a love for cooking. With a house filled to the ceiling with cookbooks, she constantly experimented with different recipes. Music was a big part of her life, humming and dancing while puttering around the house. She also loved to garden; we expanded the garden each year to make more room. Our property is full of flowers.
Golf was a passion she picked up at work, she often took clients out to play and socialize. Barb worked for Great West Life as an Executive Account Manager in the employee benefits department. Barb had a tremendous career and either won, or was part of, many awards of excellences for elite sales recognition. She notably won top salesperson one year for all of Canada, which was truly a tremendous accomplishment from a small region. Her major fundraising passion was for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Year after year she would canvas our neighborhood for donations.
Barb was known for her sense of humor, spice for life and her compassion. She was truly one of a kind and one of the most intelligent people you will ever meet. She was also known for her tenacity and her never say never attitude. Barb was affectionately referred to by many as “Barbie Doll”. A fitting handle for a classy lady that dressed to the nines each day. No one had more style. She will be immensely missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband John and daughter Haley (Mackenzie), sister Theresa Wolfe (Zigmund) and brother Peter Jaman (Ann) Predeceased by sisters: Mary Krushneryik (Nick), Rose Jaman, and Helen Fyderichuk (Martin).
