

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our angel wife and mother Barbara Helen MacIntyre. Barbara returned to her loving Father in Heaven with grace and dignity, peacefully surrounded by her adoring family, Sunday evening June 21st, 2015 at the QEII, VG Site, 5th floor, at the age of 73.
Born in Halifax, August 6th, 1941, she was the elder daughter of Thomas and Nettie Dryden. Barbara was a devoted wife and mother and cherished her time as a full-time homemaker. She had a love affair with good books, adored poetry, art, classical music, singing, gardening and home décor. She loved to paint and enjoyed her brief season with the Bedford Basin Artist Society.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Jude MacIntyre; three daughters, Jill (Bret) Thunell, Alpine, Utah; Jamie (Jorge) Martinez, Brooklin, Ontario; Jina (Scott) Christieson, Brooklin, Ontario; four sons, Jody, Halifax; Jay (Alicia), Portuguese Cove; Josh (Amanda), Halifax; Jesse (Tara), Beechville; her loving sister, Beverley (Gordon) MacDonald, Fall River; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandsons; many brothers- and sisters-in-law; and dozens of nieces and nephews. Maternal aunts, Hazel Albert, Dartmouth; Kathleen Brewer, Armdale.
Barbara was predeceased by her dear parents, Thomas and Nettie (Brewer) Dryden.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 26, 2015, from 6-8 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 11 am, J.A. Snow Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Fairview Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
