Bernard was a resident of Alberta for many years and owned his own business along with his partner Al Woolridge. The company was called Alberta Dampproofing and Waterproofing Ltd. Before moving to Alberta he also lived in Montreal and Toronto where he became interested in the waterproofing business and eventually started his own company.
Upon retirement he moved back home to Nova Scotia. He was an avid sports fan. He was a dedicated fan of the Montreal Candadiens, the Montreal Alouettes and the L.A. Dodgers. He also loved to play golf.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Faith (Cross) Blinn. He has one daughter, Rondine Jennifer Blinn, with partner Wendy Boden; son, Andrew William Blinn; sisters, Joyce (Blinn) Orphan, and Marilyn Blinn; brother, Philip Blinn; two grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Claire Blinn, Nora Blinn, Grace Henneberry, Colleen Levy, and Lillian Dyer.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Maurice and Paul Blinn; brothers-in-law, Elmer and Robert Cross, Clarence Baker and George Orphan; sister-in-law, Doreen (Cross) Baker; as well as many aunts and uncles.
