Age 77, Halifax, passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2017. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late George and Marie Little. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Martin; daughters Cheryl (Blair), Williamswood, Dawn (Gertrude), Halifax; sisters Shirley (Bill) Martin, Diane (Bill) Grimes, Debbie (Wayne) Hosein, brother Len (Cathe) Little; many nieces and nephews; and granddaughters Cassidy and Casey. Betty was predeceased by son Brian Michael; sisters Mary Dowling, Anne Little, and brother-in-law, Nazim Hosein.
Betty was known as 'Lou' to her siblings. Lou was passionate about cooking and providing for her family. She loved family gatherings, babysitting children, taking care of many family pets (who also enjoyed home cooked meals), softball games, and Charlie Pride.
Weather Betty came by her name honestly following the local weather and keeping all her family members up to date with the first frost, possible thunder showers, lightening and snow fall amounts.
Betty had an open heart and only ever saw the positive aspects in anyone she met. She was a role model for honesty and goodness and to just plain love one another. Her love had no boundaries.
We send this beautiful spirit off with huge love and pride with the knowledge that she will be reunited with those other kindred spirits who will greet her with open arms.
We are grateful for the compassionate care provided by doctors and nurses at the Nova Scotia Hospital and Abbie J. Lane Memorial Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Andrew Harris, who got Betty back on her feet after a very long hospital stay a few years back.
A celebration of life will be held on October 16th from 7-9, with remarks at 7:30, at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive.
