Aunty Chanty had great adventures with her girls, Ava and Maddie, whether it be sharing her love of glitter, stickers, crafts, board games or books. They made so many memories that will be cherished forever.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Chantale's wonderful friends who were able to provide much positive energy, comfort and support, while creating lifetime memories, making her K-Pop dreams come true. A heartfelt thanks to Cat, Chantale's longtime friend and roommate for her unwavering friendship, fun times and support.
Chantale always loved books from the time she was little. This love and passion was a driving force for her to pursue her dream career as a librarian. She received her master’s in library and information science at Western University in 2013. During her career, she wrote two books for the Practical Guides for Librarians series, STEM Programming for All Ages and Anime Clubs for Public Libraries. At the time of her passing Chantale, was the Youth Services Librarian for Halifax Regional Library and was a PhD student in library and information science at Western University. Chantale left a lasting impression with all those who knew her, both professionally and personally. She will be greatly missed by so many.
In honor of Chantale and her love of reading, let’s engage in Family Literacy Day January 27th which aims to gain awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy related activities as a family. This year's theme is Let's have a Party! Make food, sing songs and play games (add some glitter for Chantale). In lieu of flowers, please consider donating a book to your local library or school to have a lasting, positive impact on your community as Chantale would have loved or make a donation to Melanie’s Way which made Chantale’s K-pop dreams come true.
