

Charles Bernard Vaughan “Bernie” aged 75, departed this life peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, November 14, 2016, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born November 26, 1940, in Halifax, Bernie was the son of the late Teen (Bauer) Vaughan and the late Bernard Vaughan.
Bernie was a faithful and active member of St. Joseph’s Church and recently St. Agnes Church. He was also a board member of the National Association of Federal Retirees. Bernie was a member of the Canadian Air Force and later worked for Canada Customs until his retirement in 1995. After his retirement, he participated in the family business at Fairview Hills Golf Centre.
Bernie and Connie loved to travel frequently throughout Canada, the US and Europe. Bernie was an avid football fan, enjoying both the CFL and NFL.
He is survived by his wife, Constance “Connie” (Weston); daughter, Constance “Connie” (Andrews) and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; brother, Bob. He was predeceased by his brother, Harry; grandson, Eric and nephew, Daniel Weston.
Visitation to take place on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 7-9 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, November 23 at 10 am in St. Agnes Parish, 6903 Mumford Rd, Halifax. In lieu of flowers donations to Canadian Cancer Society.
