

Eric was actively involved in the Halifax Curling Club and the Saraguay Club. In his 60s, Eric chose to attend university and attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Diploma in Criminology. For many years, Eric was the owner of MacKay-Jollimore Insurance Adjustors prior to becoming Director of Claims for the NS Department of Transportation from which he retired. Eric’s wit, storytelling and ability to entertain a crowd was legendary. He will be missed.
Survived by his sons, Michael (Dale), Atlanta and Kevin (Robyn), Truro; grandchildren, Erika Caroll, (Dennis) , Nathanial Caines, Jacob Caines and great grandchild, Riley Caroll . Predeceased by his wife, Agnes (Power) Caines.
As per Eric’s request, there will be no service but a memorial reception will be held at J.A .Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Saturday, December 16. 2017, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia may be made.
