Born in Comeau’s Hill, Nova Scotia, Charles was son of the late Freeman and Cecilia Clairmont.
He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Sandra (Bennett); step children, Brenda (Geordie) Bell, Williamswood; Shelly (Stephen) Hill, Halifax; and Alfred (May) Boudreau, Calgary; grandchildren, Stephanie and Samantha Hill and Jenna Boudreau; brother Mike (Sharyn) Clairmont; sisters: Yvonne Surette; Susan Clairmont; Andrea (Greg) Warner; Ellen Surette (Kevin Pothier) and many nieces and nephews.
Charles worked as a bricklayer and was a member of the bricklayers union. He changed his career path to become a dental technician after an injury. He retired in 1994. Charles was a gifted gardener and enjoyed reading about science, spirituality, holistic health, and astrology. He always enjoyed his annual reading with his favorite psychic. Charles enjoyed weekly family dinners - he always had a new joke to tell and would laugh so hard he couldn’t finish it. Charles was very proud of his grandchildren.
We wish to thank all the nurses on 5B of VG Hospital, especially Monica McNamara. A special thank you to Dr. David Bell whom Charles highly respected. Cremation has taken place.
