

Parnell, Charles Desmond “Deb” – 85 of Halifax passed away January 8, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Halifax. He was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy Parnell. He was a devoted husband, father, grand father and uncle. A loyal friend. Deb worked in the meat industry for 50 years with Dominion Stores and IGA. He retired as Manager of Meat Sales for Bolands Ltd. He was renowned for his integrity and support of family, friends, co-workers and strangers alike. He was a past Master of Burn’s Lodge # 10, A.F. & A.M. Deb was an active and faithful member of St. John’s United Church, serving on many boards and committees. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Emma Doreen; daughters Linda (Saeed) Foroughi, Dianne (Ted) Dubowski, son David (Krista), all of Halifax; grand children Brian, Maria, Zachary, Emily, Jessie and Kirsten. Many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Gerald and sister Gladys “Tootie” Hemming. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 11, 6-8pm in Cruikshank Funeral Home 2666 Windsor St., Funeral Service will be held 1PM Thursday January 12, in United Memorial Church 5375 Kaye St., Rev.
