
Williams, Forrest Charles, age 75, Passed away peacefully, on Monday in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I. He was the son of the late Bill and Winifred Williams. Charles was born in Halifax and was educated in the City Schools and graduated from St Mary’s, St Francis Xavier and Dalhousie Universities. He was a former employee of the Halifax County and Halifax School Boards as a school principal for 29 years, retiring in 1994. In his younger years he was active in scouting as a director in the St. Pius Church branch movement. He also enjoyed being active in the Church as a reader, a parish council member and in the marriage preparation course. Charles loved outdoor activities including hunting, sport fishing, swimming and skiing. Curling was his favourite sport, enjoyed throughout high school, university and at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax. Surviving are his wife and true love, Eunice (Boyd), his daughter Joann Williams, Ottawa; sons Charles, Pickering; Peter (Patty), Calgary; and Robert (Rulen), Victoria; grandchildren Harry, Edward, Emily, Amelia and Natasha. Friends are invited to share their memories of Charles with his family during visitation between 5pm -8pm on Thursday, Sept. 2nd, in the J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am in Saint Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 45 Radcliffe Dr., Halifax, NS. Fr. James Mallon officiating. Interment will be in Camp Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Development and Peace, The Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
